Mr-Glass Door Installation: The Boca Raton Owner’s Guide

We stock and install Mr-Glass-compatible door hardware and components throughout Boca Raton, with most complete door installation jobs running between $225 and $480 installed, depending on the part and the door’s condition. Most replacements are finished in a single visit.

The way most homeowners find us is familiar: a Mr-Glass door that worked fine for years suddenly binds at the top corner in August, or the latch stops catching and the door drifts open in an afternoon sea breeze. Sometimes it’s a grinding sound in the rollers. Sometimes the panel simply will not slide without leaning into it with both hands. By the time the call reaches us, the owner has usually sprayed lubricant in every track and adjusted the same two screws twice. That is a normal sequence. Mr-Glass doors are well built, but twenty years of Boca Raton salt air and daily sun on the west-facing wall takes its toll. We are an independent service provider, not affiliated with Mr-Glass, but we work on their doors constantly and keep the common parts on our trucks.

Which Mr-Glass Models This Applies To

Most of the Mr-Glass doors we install and service in Boca Raton fall into two groups: the sliding patio doors built into homes from the 1990s through about 2015, and the narrower aluminum-frame doors used in condominium buildings along the Intracoastal and in communities like Boca Teeca and The Polo Club. The rollers, latch sets, and keepers differ between those two groups, and here is the gotcha that trips up a lot of homeowners ordering parts online: Mr-Glass changed roller housing widths twice during production years. A 2003 door and a 2006 door can look identical from the outside and take different roller assemblies. We measure the old roller with calipers before ordering or pulling from inventory.

To identify your door, start with any sticker on the top or bottom rail of the sliding panel. Second best is the glass etching in the corner. If neither exists, remove the panel and read the roller housing, because the stamped number on the housing tells us more than the door label ever will. For Mr-Glass doors specifically, we recommend OEM rollers when the original assembly is still available. The aftermarket stainless and nylon alternatives sold at the big box stores wear faster in Florida’s humidity cycle, and a door that works everywhere else in the country will run ragged here. If OEM is out of production, we will tell you that on the phone before scheduling.

Signs Your Mr-Glass Door Installation Is Failing

  • The panel grinds or catches when you slide it. This almost always means a roller bearing has flattened or the nylon wheel has worn into an oval. The door scrapes the track because it is no longer sitting on round wheels, and continuing to force it will chew up the bottom rail.
  • The door lifts noticeably when you pull the handle. A small lift is normal on an adjuster; a large one means the roller spring has collapsed inside the housing. The door is resting on the track frame, not the wheels, and every slide is grinding aluminum against aluminum.
  • The latch will not stay engaged. Boca Raton’s heat expansion pushes door frames outward in summer, and a Mr-Glass latch that held fine for years starts slipping past the keeper. Sometimes adjusting the keeper plate fixes it; other times the latch bolt itself is worn square.
  • Water or daylight is visible at the top or bottom corner when the door is closed. This is usually a roller height issue on one side, not a frame problem. But left unresolved, the panel sags, the weatherstrip compresses unevenly, and a summer afternoon downpour finds its way onto the tile.
  • The door drifts open or closed on its own. This points to a track that has gone out of level, often due to settling in the slab or years of the weight sitting on two worn rollers. A properly adjusted sliding door should stay where you leave it.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

In Boca Raton, expect to pay roughly $225 to $480 for a typical Mr-Glass door installation, and here is what actually drives the number. A standard roller replacement with OEM parts and track cleaning runs on the lower end. A full hardware refresh, which includes both rollers, latch set, keeper, and track adjustment, lands in the middle of that range. If the frame itself has sagged or the panel has been dragging long enough to wear the bottom rail, the price climbs, because we are now installing reinforcement plate or fabricating a rail cap, not just swapping wheels.

What you get from us at every price point: parts and labor separated in writing, the old parts handed back to you so you can see the wear, both manufacturer warranty layers on the parts registered in writing, and our Done Right Promise. If the door is not square and sealed when we leave, we come back and make it right, no arguing.

DIY or Call Us?

Here is an honest split. You can safely check three things yourself: whether the track is visibly packed with sand, whether the adjuster holes on the bottom of the panel have torn or stripped, and whether the door rubs harder on one side than the other. Those observations help us diagnose over the phone.

What you should not do is pull the panel out to replace rollers without help. A sliding glass panel weighs 80 to 140 pounds, and when it comes off the track awkwardly it drops hard and fast. Shattered tempered glass, cut hands, a twisted aluminum frame, and a wife who told you not to do it alone are all real outcomes. We have seen all four. Call (561) 264-1337 and we will send a background-checked, uniformed technician who measures the old roller before touching the new one. Estimates are free.

What Neighbors Say About TruePane Windows & Doors

★★★★★

"Impact windows on the whole house. They handled the permit, the inspection, and gave me a folder with every approval number for the insurance company. My windstorm premium dropped enough to notice."

BBill T.
★★★★★

"Our bay window had rotted at the sill and two other outfits wanted to talk us into a flat picture window instead. TruePane rebuilt the opening and matched the original look. Neighbors have knocked on the door about it."

GGene A.
★★★★★

"French doors to the patio, custom size because this house was built in 1961 and nothing is standard. Measured twice, three weeks to fabricate like they warned, and the install day they laid runners over my floors without being asked."

MMarie S.
★★★★★

"A casement crank had stripped and the sash was swollen shut. The technician, Ray, fixed the crank on the spot and only then talked about replacement for the three windows that were genuinely done. That is why the whole street uses them now."

EEleanor G.
★★★★★

"Eleven windows replaced in two days. The crew chief, Marcus, showed me the level on every single frame before they caulked it. My wife noticed the street noise was gone before I did."

RRonald P.
★★★★

"Energy bill was the reason we called. They did not oversell - said the two worst walls of windows would do most of the work and we could stop there. Did those eight with the Low-E glass. August electric bill tells the story."

HHarold W.
★★★★

"Sliding door had been dragging for years. They quoted a repair first, said the track was shot, then priced the replacement both ways on paper. No pressure either direction. Door glides with one finger now."

CCarol M.
★★★★

"Quote was the price, which after three other bids that grew legs was worth something. Double-hungs went in clean, they hauled the old ones, and the registration paperwork for the warranty came in the mail like they said."
